    What this call funds

This call funds a transnational pre commercial procurement action where public and private buyers jointly commission R&D providers to develop and de risk industrial value chains for renewable fuels, such as advanced bioethanol, biomethanol, e methanol and biomethane, so they reach TRL 8 and become ready for commercial deployment beyond 2030. It supports several competing suppliers in parallel to share risk, lower costs and speed market uptake, while also feeding evidence back to policy makers on permitting and regulation. Hydrogen as an end product and fossil based hydrogen production methods are excluded.
