Cost-effective biodiversity monitoring for EU policies
Transformative change towards a nature-positive economy and society · HORIZON-RIA · Needs partners
What this call funds
This call funds research projects that build cheaper, more efficient ways to monitor biodiversity, such as pollinators, soil organisms and freshwater species, so that EU environmental laws like the Nature Restoration Regulation, Soil Monitoring Law and Water Framework Directive can be implemented more easily. Projects should test and pilot new technologies, DNA based species identification and real time monitoring tools, and make the resulting data openly reusable. Three separate thematic areas are covered: pollinators, soil biodiversity and water quality, and applicants must pick one.
biodiversity · environmental monitoring · genomics · data analytics · agriculture agritech · water management
Who wins this
This call suits research consortia with environmental science, genomics and data expertise who want to pilot and scale biodiversity monitoring tools for pollinators, soil or water ecosystems in direct support of EU environmental legislation.
