Key enabling technologies for fusion power plants (European Partnership on Fusion Energy)
Innovation actions under the co-programmed European partnership on fusion energy (2nd call) · EURATOM-IA · TRL 6 to 8 · Needs partners
What this call funds
This call funds projects that develop and test advanced technologies needed for future fusion power plants, such as tritium breeding, fuel cycles, high power lasers, fusion grade materials and digital modelling tools. Projects should take these technologies from an already proven concept up to a fully demonstrated, near operational stage, and build a credible case for how they could eventually become commercial products. Around three grants will be awarded across different technology areas, covering up to sixty percent of costs for companies and up to one hundred percent for non profit organisations.
nuclear energy · advanced materials · photonics · research excellence · energy storage
Who wins this
A consortium combining research organisations with startups, SMEs or industry in an EU or Euratom associated country that has a fusion relevant technology at prototype stage and wants to mature it toward real world deployment and commercialisation.
