    What this call funds

This call funds research into breeding crop varieties that work well in intercropping systems, where multiple crops are grown together, with a focus on organic farming. It supports projects that study how different crops interact above and below ground and that develop new breeding methods and tools so organic breeders can create varieties suited to multi species farming. The goal is to lay the groundwork for better pest and weed management, nutrient use, pollination, soil health and productivity through smarter variety selection.
