Long-term drivers and consequences of soil degradation: learning from the past to improve future soil health
Supporting the implementation of the Soil Deal for Europe Mission · HORIZON-RIA · TRL 4 · Needs partners
What this call funds
This call funds research that reconstructs how soils degraded over past centuries and millennia, using historical records, archaeological evidence and soil samples, to better understand the long term causes and effects of soil degradation and to project future soil health under different climate and land management scenarios. It also supports citizen science and public awareness activities on soil health. The goal is to give policymakers, land managers and citizens better knowledge to design sustainable soil management practices.
