Data sharing to support the training and development of AI foundation models in the energy sector
ENERGY · HORIZON-IA · TRL 7 to 8 · Needs partners
What this call funds
This call funds projects that develop AI foundation models for the energy sector by sharing large, high quality datasets across grid operators, utilities and other energy players. The goal is to improve things like grid monitoring, demand forecasting, storage management and renewable integration, while keeping data private and secure. Projects must already have access to large relevant datasets and should test and validate their models in real world pilots before the project ends.

Who wins this
A consortium combining energy sector data owners like utilities and grid operators with AI developers such as startups, SMEs or larger tech providers who already have access to large energy datasets and want to build open, testable AI foundation models for the energy transition.
