    What this call funds

    This call provides emergency protection grants to fact checking organisations facing harassment, legal threats, hacking or physical danger. It covers psychological support, legal aid, safe workspace setup, emergency relocation and cybersecurity upgrades. Grants are lump sums of up to 20,000 euros, or up to 40,000 euros in exceptional cases, covering 50% of costs.

    Applicants must be EFCSN certified or demonstrably compliant with the European Code of Standards for Independent Fact Checking Organisations, and must be based in the EU or a DEP associated country. Only single applicants may apply, consortia are not eligible. Indirect costs are capped at 10% of direct costs, and the maximum grant duration is 12 months.
